Deputy Director for Science of the Institute of Geography named after academician H.Aliyev of ANAS, PhD in Geography, Associate Professor Maharram Hasanov gave an interview to ARB TV channel about natural phenomena such as thunder and lightning in Azerbaijan. The scientist said that over the past 25-30 years, the intensity of natural disasters has increased as a result of climate change on Earth, including in Azerbaijan. He noted that according to research, the most characteristic areas in our country, such as thunder and lightning, are Dashkasan, Gadabay, Goygol, Shamkir, Tovuz, Gakh, and Gabala regions.

Hasanov added that lightning conductors are installed on high-rise buildings to prevent the possible consequences of these events.
