The coronavirus pandemic could give an impetus to the development of science in Russia, said Alexei Khokhlov, vice - president of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“The whole society has recognized the importance of science, in particular, the importance of a scientific understanding of all issues related to the pandemic. The interest in science has increased significantly, ”said the academician. “And I think that many of the young people who will enter universities and other universities this year will choose the most promising specializations related to biomedical and chemical-biological science.”
