Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A monument was erected over the grave of an outstanding Azerbaijani musician, People's Artist of the USSR, State Prize laureate Academician Arif Melikov.

It should be noted that the monument was erected in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 17, 2019 “On perpetuating the memory of A.J. Melikov”.

The author of the gravestone erected on the eve of the anniversary of the late composer is People's Artist academician Omar Eldarov.

Note that Arif Melikov passed away on May 9, 2019 and was buried in the Alley of Honor.
