Presented the Graphene-based textiles cool in the heat and heat in the cold

Graphene-based textiles are cooled in the heat and heated in the cold. Clothing can adjust this on its own or with the help of commands from the user.

Scientists at the University of Manchester have developed a new type of “smart” fabric that can be embedded in adaptive clothing - it keeps cool in warm weather and vice versa. The material achieves this through the use of graphene, which can be tuned to change the thermal radiation of the fabric.

This breakthrough is based on previous work by the same research team that used graphene's abilities to create thermal camouflage that obscures heat from infrared cameras. This material passed a small electric current that was supplied to graphene layers embedded in the material.
