A vaccine created jointly with the Russian Ministry of Defense will protect a person who has received it from coronavirus for a period of more than two years, said Alexander Gunzburg, director of the Gamalea National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

Clinical trials of the vaccine created by the SIC and the Ministry of Defense on 18 volunteers began on June 18 at the Burdenko hospital. They are scheduled to be completed by the end of July.

"The vaccine is administered twice. Moreover, the same gene (the vaccine uses adenovirus containers to deliver genes encoding the corona protein in the coronavirus - ed.) Is administered on different carriers, which makes it possible not only to obtain protective protective immunity, but to get it on extended time period, ”said Gunzburg.
