A new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) is the most terrifying virus in human history. He does not "forgive" any negligence. More than 9 million people worldwide have been infected with the coronavirus, and about 480,000 people have died. Our people have lost 161 people to coronavirus infection. The measures taken in time were able to protect our people from the expected severe consequences of the pandemic. While the most powerful countries in the world are helpless in the face of this scourge, our country has not faced this situation.

This statement was made by the director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after academician Y. Mammadaliyev of ANAS, academician Vagif Abbasov. The academician said that President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva are taking serious and urgent measures to protect our people from the COVID-19 infection, which is a universal scourge, during these difficult days for the world. He said that 3.5 billion manat allocated for the fight against COVID-19 accounted for four percent of GDP, and stressed that the first stage of the fight with little loss was possible due to the selfless work of our state, doctors and the police.
