President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, academician Isa Habibbeyli got acquainted with the drafts presented for the competition for making new logo (emblem) of ANAS.

The event took place at the Presidium building of ANAS. Members of the Competition Committee as well as the authors of the projects being the workers of ANAS participated at the meeting.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli underscored that the main objective of the competition is to redesign the logo (emblem) of ANAS that will reflect cutting-edge scientific challenges, demands of information society as well as recent changes in the activity of the Academy. Isa Habibbeyli, the academician emphasized that according to the requirements of the competition the  new logo (emblem) of ANAS must have symbols and elements concerning the scientific challenges and traditions of the modern world as well as main objectives, duties and goals of ANAS. Besides the new logo (emblem) of ANAS must consist of the symbolic images of the historical buildings of the Academy as well as the elements that clearly characterize the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The project of the new logo (emblem) must be designed in a rounded form using oil colours or colour graphics.       

The President of the Academy said that according to the requirements of the competition 25 workers of ANAS presented their works and in total 67 drafts were put forward for the competition. He added that the exhibit was organized for the society to get acquainted with the projects.

Afterwards the president of ANAS expressed his thoughts about every work and had discussions with the authors of the projects.
