Bioecological characteristics of trees and shrubs used in landscaping have been studied at the Institute of Dendrology

Employees of the Ecology Laboratory of the Institute of Dendrology of ANAS studied the bio-ecological characteristics of trees and shrubs used in landscaping the Absheron Peninsula.

According to Rasmiya Efendiyeva, a researcher at the institute, the laboratory studied the properties of resistance of trees and shrubs, widely used in landscaping, mainly to frost, salinity and drought. It has been established that pine species, species of the cypress family, pyracantha with yellow and red fruits, Japanese saffron and oleander used in the conditions of Absheron can be attributed to the group of classical plants resistant to drought and soil salinity. It is more expedient to use trees and shrubs brought to the Absheron Peninsula after special tests for landscaping. Otherwise, these trees and shrubs will not be able to withstand the environmental factors of the peninsula.
