Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Copies of " National Atlas of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, prepared by President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev’s order “On the publication of “National Atlas of the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated April 20, 2011, were introduced to the libraries of institutions by the Department of Agrarian Sciences at ANAS president, acad Akif Alizadeh’s request.

Note that National Atlas, containing comprehensive scientific information, creates full impression about country's natural environment, population, economy, ecology, history, culture, science and education.

Atlas, which includes 19section, 444 page, nearly 1000 map, diagram, table, explanatory text and etc. covers all the major economic and socio-cultural fields of Azerbaijan.

Currently CIS version of the atlas is preparing by State Committee for Land and Cartography under academician Garib Mammadov’s leadership. This electronic form of National Atlas can be considered as the foundation for the National Spatial Data Infrastructure.

Atlas is a collection of unique maps covering following areas - geographical conditions, topography, vegetation, wildlife, history, culture, education and etc.
