Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The first issue of the “Elm” newspaper, the weekly press organ of the Presidium of ANAS, was printed in January 2025.

The front page of the newspaper features decrees by President Ilham Aliyev on declaring 2025 the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” in the Republic of Azerbaijan and on increasing the salaries of employees working in several state-funded organizations.

In today’s issue, a congratulatory letter sent by TÜBA (Turkish Academy of Sciences) President Professor Muzaffer Şeker to the President of ANAS on the occasion of Academician Isa Habibbeyli being elected an Honorary Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, a speech by the Academician Isa Habibbeyli at an event organized by the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature, and articles about the first meeting of the Presidium of ANAS in 2025 are presented.

The January 10 issue of the newspaper features an article titled “Science and Cooperation Will Save the World” authored by Vice President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova. It also includes report articles on significant scientific achievements of the Division of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences and the Division of Social Sciences under the section “Scientific Results of the Year”, along with other information.

It also features articles dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Academician Javad Abdinov and the 75th anniversary of Vice President of ANAS, Academician Dilgam Taghiyev.

In the Russian and English sections of the newspaper, events attended by President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, are presented, along with an interview conducted by the editor-in-chief of “Elm” newspaper, PhD in Philology Agahuseyn Shukurov, with Professor Alik Ismailzade from Germany’s Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, who was the first secretary of the International Scientific Council. Other news is also featured in these sections.
