Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The latest October issue of Elm, the weekly press organ of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), has been published.

The front page features a review of the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held in Baku.

The issue includes articles on a scientific and practical conference entitled “The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Speech at the 8th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party and the Tasks Ahead,” held with the participation of President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli; a meeting on expanding digitalization at ANAS and introducing a new digital reporting model; and an international scientific conference dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Ashig Huseyn Sarajli.

This issue also brings readers reports on a scientific conference entitled “Sabir Rustamkhanli: A Thinker, People’s Poet and Fighter for Independence,” as well as meetings held by the President of ANAS with representatives of the editorial board of Kommunist, Vietnam’s official press publication, and with Georgian scholars. It also features coverage of Academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, Acting Vice-President of ANAS, participating in an international scientific and practical conference entitled “Mutual Historical-Cultural and Political-Economic Relations between Kazakhstan and the Eastern World: History, the Present and Development Trends,” as well as material on the latest blood donation campaign held at ANAS.

In addition, the newspaper features an interview with ANAS Corresponding Member Bagir Bagirov; articles entitled “A Prominent Representative of Azerbaijani Mechanics,” “A New Page Opening onto the Poetic Memory of Kazakh National Thought,” and “Religious Tolerance and Ideological Security”; as well as news reflecting the Academy’s public life, information about new publications, and the names of Nobel laureates who received their awards during Nobel Week.

The Russian- and English-language sections of the newspaper also feature reviews and news reports covering important events held at ANAS over the past week.
