A Scientific Journey into “The World of Music”

The book “The World of Music” by Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of ANAS, was recently published. The book features a collection of articles and research written by Academicism Isa Habibbeyli over the years, dedicated to Azerbaijani musical art and prominent figures in the field of music. It also includes song lyrics, notes, and photographs from various events.

The book “The World of Music” features articles such as “Azerbaijani Mugham Science: Realities and Prospects,” “Research Problems of the Musical Culture of Turkic Peoples,” and Azerbaijani folk dance “Yalli” as well as studies on the prominent representative of Azerbaijani Ashiq art, Ashiq Alasgar. Additionally, the book includes articles dedicated to the creative works of great Azerbaijani composer, renowned musicologist, and pedagogue Academician Uzeyir Hajibeyli, world-famous Azerbaijani singer and People’s Artist Muslim Magomayev, pianist, composer, professor, and People’s Artist Farhad Badalbeyli, Azerbaijani opera singer and People’s Artist Khuraman Gasimova, well-known kamancha player and People’s Artist Agajabrail Abasaliyev, Chairperson of the Union of Azerbaijani Composers, corresponding member of ANAS, and People’s Artist Firangiz Alizade, as well as other notable music figures of Azerbaijan. The book also contains an article on the scientific contributions of Academician Zemfira Safarova, a distinguished scientist in the field of Azerbaijani music history.

The research articles presented in the collection cover the works of representatives of Ashiq art - Ashiq Alasgar, Dada Shamshir, and Pir Sultan Abdal.  

In addition, the book “The World of Music” includes the lyrics of several songs and sheet music composed for various poems. The “Photo Presentation” section of the collection features commemorative photographs from events dedicated to the world of music and poetry held in different venues. 

It should be noted that the book “The World of Music” was published by the “Elm və Təhsil” Publishing House. The scientific editor of the book is Academician Zemfira Safarova, Head of the Department of Music History and Theory at the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS. The compiler is PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Agahuseyn Shukurov, Head of the Public Relations, Press, and Information Department of the Presidium Administration of ANAS.
