Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On April 1, Vice President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbayli met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Azerbaijan Viktor Szederkenyi.

At the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli said that Azerbaijan-Hungary relations were developing steadily. Emphasizing the participation of the Prime Minister of Hungary in the Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the importance of scientific research in the field of Turkology between the two countries. Emphasizing the importance of developing cooperation between the research institutions of ANAS operating in the field of humanities and social sciences and the scientific institutions of the friendly country, the vice-president noted that there is a scientific potential for this. Academician Isa Habibbayli also stressed the importance of establishing trilateral scientific relations with the participation of scientists from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Hungary.

Hungarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Viktor Szederkenyi spoke about the historical roots and the realities of interstate relations at the present stage, as well as the prospects for political, historical and scientific relations between the two countries. Emphasizing the importance of developing cooperation in the field of science, the ambassador spoke about the importance of further expanding cooperation between research institutions of the two friendly countries.

After an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest in the field of science, the guests were presented souvenirs.

The meeting was also attended by the diplomat of the Hungarian embassy in Azerbaijan on culture and education Mihay Gruber, the head of the Foreign Relations Office ​of the Presidium of ANAS Esmira Alirzayeva.
