Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The first stage of project “Collecting, Systematization, Archiving and Assessment of Folklore Samples of Karabakh Region of Azerbaijan” for 2014 which was realized by ANAS Institute of folklore came to the end.

Based on the collected materials, consisting of 9 books, one of which in volume of 30 printing pages the book “Karabakh: folklore also history” was published. Also were held 1 international and 3 scientific conference on “Problems and prospects of Karabakh folklore”.

Remain that, collected in the framework of mythological texts, legends, folk tales, fairy tales, anecdotes, proverbs, Bayaty and also lullabies, games, and other examples of children's folklore were systematized and brought to the attention of the scientific community.

It was revealed that more than 40 of the fairy-tale stories, first discovered in Azerbaijan, the 30 from them do not have a match in the international “Catalogue of Aarne-Thompson.” These fairy tales who aren't found in folklore of other people are exclusively Azerbaijani fairy tales which have the big importance for modern folklore studies.
