Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The shield of XVII-XVIII centuries was restored in the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan of ANAS.

When the shield was handed over to the museum, the condition of the shield was incomplete and it needed to be restored. The shield has five umbrellas and is a demonstration and ceremonial defense weapon. The surface of the shield is decorated with floral patterns, gold ornaments and carvings. The umbrella in the center depicts the sun with a human face. Golden rays radiate from the edges of the sun. The floral ornaments on the edges of the shield are painted with golden water.

It should be noted that the defense weapons, which form the main part of the Museum's Weapons and Flags Fund, are a historical source that confirms our national and spiritual values, our ancestral roots, as material and cultural monuments of Azerbaijan.
