Correspondent member of ANAS Namig Jalilov’s 60th anniversary celebrated

On February 18, well-known scientist in the field of space plasma physics, head of Solar physics department of ANAS Shamakha Astrophysical Observatory, correspondent member Namig Jalilov’s 60 anniversary was celebrated. Namig Jalilov was born on February 18, in Nakhchevan AR, Ordubad region, Ashagi Gishlag in 1955. In 1983-2004 he worked in leading scientific centers of Russia and Germany (Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radio Wave Propagation (Moscow) and the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam). The scientist began his scientific activity with theoretical problems of the helio seismology which is actual area of Solar Physics and reached fundamental results. Considering radioactive absorption of vibrations, scientist calculated a range of an acoustic pulsation of the Sun. N.Jalilov is author of important projects together with scientists from Russia, Canada and Spain. For the first time, together with scientists from Russia and Germany the theory of vortex global oscillations associated with the differential solar rotation has been put forward by N. Jalilov. The scientist is the author of 107 scientific articles. Fundamental scientific results (90 scientific works) of the scientist were published on high-rating scientific magazines of Russia, Europe and America. According to the statistics of NASA/ADS and Google/Scholar scientific works of the scientist were quoted about 1000 times. The monograph of scientist “Global oscillations of the Sun”, co-written with known astrophysicist Zh.Shtaude (Germany), evoked a wide response among scientific community. The scientist was the supervisor and participant of a number of fundamental international grants in the field of science. As a result of his efforts, Shamakha Astrophysical Observatory was the winner of the 4 year (2012-2015) joint grant project program FP7. Along with scientific activity N. Jalilov was also engaged in pedagogical activity (BSU, faculty of physics). He is the member of the International Euro-Asian astronomical society. We congratulate the prominent scientist in the field of astrophysics on the occasion of 60th anniversary wish him long life, a robust health and further achievements in development of domestic science.
