On May 2, celebrate scientist in the field of informatics, Honored Scientist with “Shohrat” order, director of the Institute of Control Systems, acad. Telman Aliyev was 80 years old.

Telman Aliyev was born in Goranboy city, May 2, 1935. In 1958, graduated from Azerbaijan Industry Institute on behalf of Mashadi Azizbayov, gained PhD title for “Computing technique” in 1966, Doctor of sciences for “Informatics theory and technical cybernetics” in Moscow State Technical University on behalf of N. Bauman in 1977, and title of professor in 1985. He was elected corresponding member of ANAS in 1983 and active member in 2001. 

Beginning for labor activity in the Computing Centre in 1958, scientist worked in the posts of technician, engineer, and senior engineer until 1962.  In 1965-1982, had worked as head engineer, junior, senior researcher, chief of laboratory and department at the Institute of Cybernetics, deputy director for scientific affairs in 1982-1984. T. Aliyev has been chief chair at Azerbaijan Institute Construction Engineers in 1984-88. Since 1988, has been working as director of the Institute of Control Systems. Had been academician-secretary of the Department of Physicsal-Mathematical and Technical Sciences in 1997-2001.

Telman Aliyev’s research objects were robust technology analysis and the theory, theory and technology providing the adequacy of the identification, recognition and diagnostics for stochastic processes, signal noise analysis technology as a carrier of useful information and theory, position-binary technology of cyclic noisy signals and theory.

Scientist proposed theoretic basics for "creation the noise technology and systems which allow to monitor incubation period of accidents”. Created system has been applied in the Oil Refinery Plant named after Heydar Aliyev, Shirvan Oil Company, Balakhani oil and gas production.

Scientist authored for 463 scientific works, including 14 monographs and 77 patents, supervised to 9 Doctors of sciences and 35 PhDs.

Academician was deserved to Keldysh medal (1991), "Red Star" medal (1997), "Order of Shohrat" (2004), "Honored Scientist" (2009).

Academician Telman Aliyev was awarded with Award on behalf of Nasiraddin Tusi in the Annual General Meeting of ANAS on April 29.

We congratulate the celebrate scientist in the field of computer science on the occasion of the 80th anniversary, wish him long life, robust health and successes in the development of Azerbaijan science.
