www.science.gov.az web-portal has shifted into online-journalism school in the country for its special features and rich traditions.

Being the first web site of Azerbaijan media, science.gov.az is going to celebrate its 20th anniversary. ANAS official web-portal was launched in 1995 with the name of the www.ab.az then, was assigned to Institute of Information Technologyin 2001 by the decision of the Presidium of the ANAS.

The key goal is to deliver relevant data on the academy and its diversified activities to the Azerbaijan and world community, as well as to provide international ties of ANAS employees via global scientific information space. In addition, official documents signed by Mr. President on science and education, official documents of the Presidium of ANAS, and periodical editions of ANAS are posted in the portal.

Portal, which timely, completely and objectively elucidating obtained achievements in scientific sphere of the country, has owned some specific features for many years. Thus, many students of journalism faculty of Baku State University held probation and worked in the portal and gained wide range of experience. The practice courses of the institute for same students have been attended by overall 300 students.

Meanwhile, media specialists of various famous sites in the country are students of science.gov.az. Employees of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAG) have probated practical basics of online media, creation and management of the sites at Institute of Information Technology.

Currently, www.science.gov.az web-portal goes on successfully, data are constantly updated, improved and expanded.
