Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

President Ilham Aliyev has signed an Order establishing the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).

Set up with the aim of coordinating fruitful cooperation with ISESCO, the National Commission will include 10 people, chaired by Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev.

Azerbaijan holds a three year presidency of ISESCO General Conference.

In the Order, the President hailed the announcing of Baku and Nakhchivan as the capital of the Islamic culture in 2009 and 2018 respectively as the Muslim world`s recognition of "rich historical and cultural legacy of the people of Azerbaijan".

Guiding by 32 clause of 109 item of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and necessity of holding presidency of ISESCO General Conference, with the goal of successfully coordinate collaboration to ISESCO, I resolve:

1. Create a National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to ISESCO as follows:

Abulfaz Garayev - Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Members of the Commission

Nadir Huseynov - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Firudin Gurbanov - Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Intigam Babayev - Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Rauf Hajiyev - Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Isa Habibbeyli - Vice-president of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Aynur Sofiyeva - Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Family, Women and Children Affairs

Sayyad Salahli - first deputy chairman of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with Religious Associations

Dagbeyi Ismayilov - Deputy Director General of Azerbaijan State News Agency (AzerTAc)

Urkhan Alakbarov - the rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan Republic

Vasim Mammadaliyev - active member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

2. The Cabinet of Ministers to resolve issues arising from this Order.
