Elchin Babayev: Although it is expected a gradual weakening of the storm, geomagnetic disturbance will continue for three days, especially will be shown on January 23.
In spite of the fact that, on a surface of the Sun only 59 spots and 4 groups of activity, the last two days are observed the geomagnetic indignation proving with breaks developed into a geomagnetic storm of G2 of a class by the end of the day (maximum on G5 scale).
The value of a geomagnetic index of Kp reached 6 (a maximum value 9). As a result of the storm in the northern latitudes, was observed a magnificent natural phenomenon - Aurora.
Deputy Director of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after N. Tusi of ANAS, Elchin Babayev, noted that, despite the relative calm observed on the Sun's surface, changing the probability of solar flares is between the 1-5 percent, there was a geomagnetic storm and resentment will continue in the coming days.
Geomagnetic perturbations and storms are difficult process. Noted that, this storm is the result of interference of the mass coronal plasma, ejected by the Sun and the Earth's magnetosphere. Collateral reason for this is the impact of high-speed solar wind plasma originating from the "coronal holes" on the surface of the sun. "Coronal holes" - are areas having an open magnetic field lines. Charged particles easily leave the solar corona and high speed is directed into interplanetary space. Elchin Babayev said that, unlike the high latitudes for people living in our high geographic latitude there is no reason for concern. In some cases, they may even feel a burst of energy. But people at risk, it is recommended to take preventive measures on the recommendation of a doctor. The impact that observed in recent days, a sharp change in weather conditions with space weather does not exclude the amplification of negative states.
In general, this influence can be different for every healthy individual. Geomagnetic storms significantly affecting a number of technological systems can establish a communication radio waves off short (or "hangs") and radiation storms.
