The meeting discussed the action plan of the Ganja Division of ANAS regarding the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Chairman of the Ganja Division of ANAS, Academician Fuad Aliyev evaluated the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, celebrated this year, as a significant event for our state and society. He spoke about the provisions of the action plan and the relevant tasks for its implementation.

First of all, the status of work on the preparation of monographs dedicated to this significant date was discussed at the meeting. The importance of creating a scientific work reflecting the scientific and organizational activities of the Ganja Division of ANAS from 1981 to 2024 was emphasized.

The chairman underlined that several monographs would be prepared on the occasion of the anniversary as well as scientific forums, conferences, and roundtable discussions would be held at the Ganja Division of ANAS during the anniversary year.

Various issues related to the 80th anniversary of ANAS were discussed during the meeting including publishing theses and articles about the academy’s history and its development path in various scientific collections, holding commemorative days of our prominent scientists, awarding honorary certificates and money prizes to employees who excel in scientific and organizational activities during the anniversary year, organizing competitions such as “Best Scientific Worker” and “Most Active Young Researcher” of the Ganja Division of ANAS, conducting scientific excursions to sites like the Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum, the Heydar Aliyev Center, and others, arranging educational meetings with students and schoolchildren under the theme “ANAS-80: Our Science and Its Prominent Figures”, preparing of an exhibition of scientific achievements of Ganja Division of ANAS  on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of ANAS, disseminating materials reflecting the main achievements of the Ganja Division on social media in English, preparing and translating books about the Division’s international collaborations and joint activities with foreign researchers into foreign languages, preparing documentaries, and ensuring the video materials related to the anniversary are voiced in foreign languages.

Instructions for preparing and implementing these events were given to the relevant departments.

The meeting of the Presidium also addressed several current issues related to the activities of the Division.
