The President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli met with Professor Riri Fitri Sari, the founder of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, who was on a visit to our country.
During the meeting, Academician Isa Habibbeyli underlined that one of the main directions of the reforms carried out at the National Academy of Sciences is the electronic movement. In this regard, an “Electronic Academy” department was established within the administration of the Presidium of ANAS. He said that, within a short period, the department has achieved significant results in ranking indicators, digitalization, the application of artificial intelligence in scientific research, and the expansion of electronic services networks. To promote Azerbaijani science globally, profiles of our scientists have been created in international academic networks, websites for scientific publications have been developed, and DOI identifiers have started to be assigned to articles published in journals.
The head of ANAS mentioned that important steps have been taken to expand the application possibilities of artificial intelligence, which has become a part of our daily lives, in scientific research within the fields of humanities and social sciences and underlined the interest of Azerbaijani scientists in cooperation with Indonesian experts on this matter.
In turn, Professor Riri Fitri Sari, the founder of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, provided information about the research activities of the organization she represents. The professor emphasized that the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings play a significant role in evaluating the scientific research activities of institutions and universities across various areas and is an essential platform for cooperation and experience exchange among institutions.
Aygun Aliyeva, the chief specialist of the “Electronic Academy” department of the Presidium administration of ANAS, informed the guest about the department’s areas of activity.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding joint cooperation in the fields of rankings, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and green technologies. It was agreed to establish and maintain connections with relevant specialists.
Subsequently, the guest visited the Presidium of ANAS, met with the staff of the “Electronic Academy” department, and shared some of her experiences with them. The visit concluded with a tour of the Presidium building.
