President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli met with a delegation led by PhD in Philosophy, Associate Professor Anatoly Lazarevich, Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
In his speech during the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations, noting that close friendship and reliable partnership ties have been established between the two states over many years.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that the state policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully continued by the Head of State. He underlined that today, President Ilham Aliyev has turned Azerbaijan into one of the countries with a strong voice on the international stage and is recognized as one of the world’s leading leaders. He also emphasized that under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our historical territories were liberated from occupation, and the state of Belarus and its leader have always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and stood by our country.
The head of ANAS said that the scientific relations of Azerbaijan and Belarus have a long-standing history, which have continued during the years of independence. He pointed out that joint international grant competitions have been held and that scientists participate in scientific events held in both countries.
Speaking about the recent reforms carried out in Azerbaijani science, Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that today, research is conducted at ANAS in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and seismology, in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, the country’s priorities, and the challenges of modern global science.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli mentioned that an agreement had been reached on signing a new cooperation agreement with the Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Further, the Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, PhD in Philosophy and Associate Professor Anatoly Lazarevich made a speech. He thanked the leadership of ANAS for the warm welcome and expressed his satisfaction with being in our country. Speaking about the high level of Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations, Anatoly Lazarevich said that the institute he heads closely cooperates with the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS.
Stating that Belarusian scientists participated in the international conference titled “The Ideological Legacy of Heydar Aliyev: Philosophical Problems of Sovereignty and Constitutionalism,” which was held at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology on June 17, the Director of the Institute recalled that they had also taken part in the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader two years ago.
Anatoly Lazarevich said that there are many problems in conducting research in today’s changing, developing world, where wars and social crises occur. He emphasized that representatives of the fields of humanities and social sciences, especially philosophers, bear a great responsibility in this context. He expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS and their interest in further expanding the ties.
The Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of ANAS, Professor Ilham Mammadzade, Head of Department at the same institute, Professor Azer Mustafayev, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, PhD in Philosophy and Associate Professor Natalia Lazarevich, and Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Methodology of Science at Belarusian State University, PhD in Philosophy Olga Kurbachova also made speeches at the event. They spoke about expanding cooperation in the fields of social ecology and the social and humanitarian sciences, staff exchanges, preparation and publication of joint articles, and other related matters.
At the end of the meeting, gifts were presented to the Belarusian scientists, and pictures were taken to remember the meeting.
