The closing ceremony of the international symposium titled “Azerbaijan and Türkiye in World Politics,” jointly organized in Baku by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), was held at the Central Scientific Library of ANAS.

At the event, the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli delivered a speech underlining that the two-day international symposium successfully concluded its work and was remembered for its significant scientific outcomes.

He said that within the framework of the international symposium, nearly 30 reports covering various current topics were presented. As a result of the discussions, all participants got comprehensive information about the role of Azerbaijan and Türkiye in world politics, the positions they hold, and the unity and solidarity of these brotherly countries.

“The friendship and brotherhood between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, which can be seen in all areas, including the political arena and the international stage were clearly shown during this scientific symposium as well,”-said the President of ANAS. The topics discussed during the event would create broad opportunities for future research and contribute to the development of new scientific directions.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli mentioned that the presented reports would be published in Türkiye as a collection of scientific articles, and that this book would serve as a guide and valuable source of information for future researchers. The international symposium had opened a new page in the development of cooperation of ANAS with various scientific institutions of Türkiye and the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA).

Stating that Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations have entered a new stage of development, the head of ANAS expressed his confidence that this cooperation would lead to a further deepening of scientific ties between the two brotherly countries. He emphasized the special significance of the participation of Turkish scientists visiting Azerbaijan for the first time within the framework of the event and described the establishment of new scientific bridges between the two countries as an important step.

Professor Muzaffer Şeker emphasized that the ties between the two countries are unshakable and are based on the words of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev: “Azerbaijan and Türkiye are one nation, two states,” and the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow.”

Quoting a line from the great philosopher Yunus Emre’s poetry, “Sevelim sevilelim, Dünya kimseye kalmaz” (“Let us love and be loved; this world will remain for no one,”) the President of TÜBA expressed his wish for the love between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Türkiye and the unbreakable bond of friendship and brotherhood between the two nations to remain eternal.
