Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Within his visit to Türkiye, President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli visited Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

Professor Ahmet Cevat Acar, Rector of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University provided detailed information about the history, structure, scientific and higher education activities, as well as international relations of the Sabahattin Zaim University. He expressed their interest in cooperating with scientific research institutions of ANAS and added that the prominent Turkish poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy had once worked at this university.  

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, in turn, spoke about the areas of activity of ANAS, existing cooperation ties with scientific and higher education institutions of Türkiye, and provided information about the research conducted at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Center established at the Nizami Institute of Literature.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli emphasized the importance of establishing mutual cooperation ties between Sabahattin Zaim University and the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Center of the Nizami Institute of Literature.

After the exchange of views, the participants became acquainted with documents about Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the author of the national anthem of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who once studied at Sabahattin Zaim University and later worked there as a teacher. They also viewed historical photographs.

President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, Professor Muzaffer Şeker also attended the meeting.
