Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Speaking on the matter, the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, stated that in order to implement the Presidential Decree “On the Celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences”, a final jubilee event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of ANAS will be held on November 4, 2025. Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that 42 representatives from 21 national academies will take part in the event. During these days, the Academy Museum will be inaugurated with their participation, a tree-planting campaign will be organized at the Rare Trees Park of ANAS, and a tour to the “Yanar Dag” Reserve will be held. He emphasized that on November 5, a meeting with the participation of the Academies of Sciences of the Turkic world will take place, during which proposals and recommendations related to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress will be prepared.

Providing information on the publications being prepared for the 80th anniversary, Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that the “Elm” Publishing House is preparing a number of publications, including “Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences: From Heydar Aliyev to Ilham Aliyev,” “Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences: Born from Historical Necessity in the 20th Century,” and “Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on the Path of Renewal and Reforms.” In addition, the two-volume edition “Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Faces,” the “Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Presentation Book,” bibliographies of ANAS founders and prominent full and corresponding members, and a special issue of the “Science and Life” journal are also being prepared. In total, about 50 publications are planned. Academician Isa Habibbayli emphasized that these publications are of special importance in presenting the history, achievements, and current activities of ANAS to the younger generation and to international guests attending the jubilee events.

The speaker added that these publications will be presented to the national and international scientific community at the Scientific Achievements Exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of ANAS. A special video clip prepared by professional experts, reflecting the Academy’s activities, will also be screened during the event.
