Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

At the next meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), discussions were held on the outcomes of the Academy’s participation in the 11th Baku International Book Fair, themed “Techno-Human: The Legend of the Past, the Reality of Today.”

Speaking on the matter, Director of ANAS “Elm” Publishing House, PhD in Philology Sabuhi Gahramanov noted that preparations for the exhibition had been carried out at a high level and the Academy’s rich scientific heritage was presented to the public. More than 600 monographs, multi-volume works, reference publications, bibliographies, and journals were displayed at the “Elm” Publishing House stand.

He emphasized that within the framework of the exhibition, ANAS organized two events - “In the Academy: Bibliographic Publications and Serial Academic Editions” and “Academy’s Zangezurname: From Folklore Collections to Academic Research.” Over 100 books dedicated to the 80th anniversary of ANAS, including monographs, bibliographies, a promotional book, and serial publications on various fields of science, as well as 56 editions related to Zangezur, were presented. Both events, he said, attracted great interest and demonstrated the Academy’s devotion to the ideals of Azerbaijani statehood.

“Our participation in the exhibition was successful in terms of broadly promoting the Academy’s scientific heritage. Secondly, unlike previous years, the joint presentation of ANAS institutes and organizations under a unified stand further strengthened the Academy’s position. In addition, the publications dedicated to the 80th anniversary showcased the Academy’s serious preparation for the jubilee. Finally, after 25 years, the renewal of the technical base of ‘Elm’ Publishing House gave new life to our academic book culture both quantitatively and qualitatively,” Gahramanov noted.

The Presidium instructed ANAS scientific institutions and organizations to implement appropriate measures to further improve exhibition activities and organize them in accordance with modern standards, considering their importance for promoting scientific achievements and popularizing science.
