Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History held a successful work on preparation of the exhibition "Shah Ismail I – commander and the governor".

At the exhibition in the section "Economy of the State of Safavids" was posted the unique materials relating to economy of Azerbaijan of the XVI-XVII century.

Among them was demonstrated silk textile of the XVI century ("qızılbaş ipəkləri"), which was the major export item of the Safavid state in Western countries, copper utensils, decorated with unique ornaments, etc.

Also here was given information on the financial system of the Safavid state during the rule of Shah Ismail I, presented engraved silver coins during Shah Ismail I for the first time.

In order to demonstrate the agriculture, crafts and Azerbaijan trade of XVI century were shown the miniatures of that time.
