Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Final match and closing ceremony of III Football Championship of ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists dedicated to the 93 anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held with support of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, Administrative Department and the Free Trade Union of National Academy of Sciences.

At the final match the team of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics met with the Institute of Physics. Team of the Institute of Physics was the winner of the championship.

At the award ceremony the President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh congratulated team members stressed the importance of the championship, which takes place for the third time, and noted the development of sport in Azerbaijan at the state level.

Noting the dynamic development of this sector in the country, in particular sports culture day by day, the head of ANAS estimated the construction of various sports facilities in districts and cities of the country, the creation of the National Olympic Committee as a prime example of state attention to this area.

Chairman of the Council of young scientists and researchers, PhD in physics Famin Salmanov informed that, the championship in this year was attended by 17 teams. He expressed gratitude to the Academy for their support.

Then the teams were awarded. Team of the Institute of Physics took first place, the team of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics - the second, team of the Institute of Genetic Resources - third place.

The members of the winning teams were awarded with medals, diplomas and cash prizes.
