A copy of the book The Great Azerbaijani Poet Nizami Ganjavi, authored by President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbeyli and published in 10 languages in 2021, has officially been presented to the collection of the British Library in London.
This was stated in a letter sent to the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences by Neil Watson, a member of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in London.
The letter reads:

Promoting Azerbaijani Heritage in the United Kingdom: Academician Isa Habibbeyli’s Work on Nizami Ganjavi Presented to the British Library
I am honored to share an important and historic milestone in international academic relations between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan.
A copy of the significant multilingual work The Great Azerbaijani Poet Nizami Ganjavi by Academician Isa Habibbeyli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), dedicated to the life, philosophical heritage, and literary legacy of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi (1141–1209), has officially been presented to the collection of the British Library in London.
This initiative provides the European and international academic community with direct access to a detailed, richly illustrated study of Nizami’s legacy prepared to the highest academic standards.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli is a distinguished literary scholar and a renowned specialist in the study of the history of Azerbaijani literature, folklore, as well as the Enlightenment in the East and the West. His dedicated research has focused on an in-depth analysis of the evolution of philosophical thought and socio-literary movements, as well as the major intellectual figures whose decisive role in the development of humanity shaped the cultural landscape of the region.
As President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli makes an invaluable contribution to the advancement of academic research at the international level. Under his leadership, ANAS is actively expanding its international partnerships to an unprecedented level by implementing joint initiatives with leading scientific centers in Europe and around the world.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli’s extensive research on the works of Nizami Ganjavi, as well as on the Azerbaijani Enlightenment of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, has established a new benchmark for contemporary Nizami studies and literary scholarship. At the same time, he has tirelessly supported the development of leading academic schools, strengthening the role of ANAS as the country’s principal intellectual center.
The presentation of Academician Isa Habibbeyli’s monograph dedicated to Nizami Ganjavi to the British Library carries significance far beyond the mere addition of a book to the collection of one of the world’s largest and most renowned libraries. It serves as an important academic bridge that contributes to a proper and profound understanding of the classical heritage of Azerbaijan within global scholarly discourse. Rich in humanism, ethics, and wisdom, Nizami’s works continue to unite cultures and remain relevant, while through such fundamental studies, Azerbaijani scholarship continues to resonate at the highest international level.

P.S. Academician Isa Habibbeyli’s book The Great Azerbaijani Poet Nizami Ganjavi, published by Elm Publishing House in 2021, contains a monographic study of the creator of the Khamsa in Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, and Russian, as well as sections in German, Chinese, Polish, Georgian, Ukrainian, and Bulgarian.
