Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Physiology held a meeting with the chairman of the Gerontology Public Union of the Republic of Belarus, head of department the Russian Federation's Development Institute of Medical and Biological Therapy, Geriatrics and Medicine of Anti-aging Prof. A.Y.Ilnitskiy, and director of “Gerontology” Scientific-Research Medical Center Dr.Medicine K.I.Proshshayev.

Director of the Institute of Physiology Dr. Biology Ulduz Hashimova informed the guests on the activity directions of the institute led by her.

In a meeting, priorities of cooperation between Belarus Gerontology Public Union and the newly created Azerbaijan Gerontology Society were discussed.

Key directions of cooperation were intended the spheres such as to study cardiovascular and nervous systems in aging processes, and the long-lived, a comprehensive study of saffron’s hero protector effect from physiological, biochemical and clinical point of view, identify its pro-androgen features and use it in preventive geriatrics – medicine of anti-aging, as a phytoestrogen.

Parties also agreed on conducting a special section of longevity problems to be held within the congress of The International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics in the USA in 2017.

Belarusian scientists held a meeting at the Scientists’ House of ANAS as well. Meeting with participation of employees of the Department of Biology and Medical Sciences, including representatives of medical public was listened a lecture “Aging and medicine in a modern era” by Prof. A.N.Ilnitsky.
