Institute of Geology and Geophysics held a next seminar on “Geomechanics”

Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS held a next seminar within the framework of the project entitled "Complex theoretical and experimental studies of interdisciplinary problems of geomechanics."

Note that, the project is carried out at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, in cooperation with the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Republican Seismological Survey Center, Baku State University and Yildiz Technical University of Turkey.

Seminar was attended by all the attendees of the scientific-research project and guests from various enterprises.

Academician Hatam Guliyev told about works done within the project and stated that today’s seminar will focus on lecture “Moving issues in the processing of oil fields of non-homogeneous porous atmosphere and their solutions” by corresponding member of ANAS Geylani Panahov and Dr. Engineering E.Abbasov

Then, corresponding member Geylani Panahov submitted the lecture. He stated that, during operation of the field in oil-gas extraction, it is necessary to multiply water, gas and different solutions to it due to maintain pressure at all layers and regulate adjusting.

It was noted that such of heterogeneous systems injected to the wells are observed with moving processes in the entry and exit of layers, in the well-bottom zone, porous environment of layer, including in flows and filtrations. Such cases of moving can be colmatation, adsorption, suffosia, desorption and others. These processes play an important role in the exploitation of fields in oil-gas extraction.

G.Panahov noted that the study of adsorption-desorption and colmatation-suffosia processes will pave the way to solve problems in regular foam creation while oil-gas extraction and adjusting in order to expand the scope of harassment, in achieving the extraction of adsorbed gas from clay rocks, without waiting for the duration of exhaustion, as well as in creating innovative technologies for intensifying oil output.

They exchanged views on the lecture, questions were responded.
