Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

10 November is World Science Day. This date was established by the decision of UNESCO. Science Day is carried out under slogan of “For peace and development” in a current year. This slogan aims to inform the population with scientific development, new achievements and work done by scientists in the direction of expanding the horizons of people and enhance the durability of society.

Having held for the first time on 10 November 2002, and since then the World Science Day is celebrated every year around the world in order to enhance the role of science in the international and national level, as well as increase the impact of the science results in society, and sustainable development.

World Science Day is celebrated with scientific assembly, seminar, conference and festival organized by UNESCO.

As in many places this holiday is marked in our country. Azerbaijan is among the countries that has given a great contribution to world science. Scientific achievements were gained in the country in the fields of science and education.

This year, scientific community of Azerbaijan has celebrated 2nd Azerbaijan Science Festival In our country, where have been significant advances in the field of science and education.

The festival was held on the initiative of ANAS, UNESCO, Ministries - Education, Communication and High technologies, the executive authorities of the city, the Fund's "Knowledge" of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the US Embassy in Russia and Moscow State University.

The festival, which covers various regions of Azerbaijan, was attended by about 50 thousand people.
