Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

According to the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic "On the Organization of Work on the Protection and Certification of Historical and Cultural Monuments in the Territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" dated December 6, 2005, the Nakhchivan Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences continues work on the certification of historical and cultural monuments.

In the course of the research conducted by the staff of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology of the Department from 2006 to the present time, 1202 monuments of history and culture have been identified on the territory of Nakhchivan and a map on their registration and certification has been prepared on the basis of the collected data. 825 monuments were first discovered by historian-scientists.

Note that, books were published in connection with a number of archaeological studies, as well as sites reflecting the monuments of Nakhchivan.
