Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Institute of Radiation Problems (IRP) was elected a member of the International Nuclear Safety Education Network of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The IRP is the first Azerbaijani organization to become a member of this network.

As a result of its membership, the Institute got an opportunity to get to know the most modern means in the field of nuclear safety. Also, employees of the IRP using a special password were able to use the Internet resources of this network.

Head of the Department International Relations of Institute Ibrahim Gabulov was appointed as the coordinator of this network.

Note that, the network, covering 30 countries and more than 100 organizations on a global scale was organized by the IAEA in March 2010. The main activities of the International Network for Education in Nuclear Safety are the organization of training in the physical security of nuclear and other radioactive materials, the development of technical facilities, the organization of seminars and training courses, the holding of technical meetings of experts, the exchange of specialists, joint scientific and technical research and other issues in the field of nuclear safety.
