Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the State Administration of the Historical and Architectural Reserve "Icherishahar" under the Cabinet of Ministers and the Republican Center for Children and Youth Development of the Ministry of Education, was organized the program "Month of Museums" under the slogan "Museums and Islamic Solidarity."

The goal is to familiarize the schoolchildren with the collection funds of museums, the national and cultural heritage of the peoples belonging to Azerbaijan and the Islamic civilization, as well as their mutual relations in different periods.

Within the framework of the program, schoolchildren from general schools in Baku visited 16 leading, 11 memorial house museums operating in the capital. During the excursion 4 thousand 269 students got acquainted with the collection funds of museums.

Heydar Aliyev Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Maiden Tower, the Shirvanshahs Palace Complex, the Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet, National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Azerbaijan National Museum of Nature named after Hasan bey Zardabi, as well as more than 15 museums have joined the "Month of Museums" program.
