Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Institute of Folklore with the organizational support of ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi will be held a scientific conference on "The prominent Azerbaijani folklorist - Mamedgusein Tahmasib" devoted to the 110th anniversary of the scientist and folklorist, Professor Mammadguseyn Takhmasib in September of this year.

The event will discuss the life and work of an outstanding scientist, his invaluable merits in the field of folklore.

Let us note that, Professor M.Tahmasib, who created the school of folklore in Azerbaijan, was an excellent connoisseur of history, ethnography and geography of Azerbaijan. Scientific research work of the scientist and today are considered valuable sources for Azerbaijani literary criticism.
