A conference on "National Leader Heydar Aliyev is the founder of religious solidarity" was held in Nakhchivan on December 6 within the framework of the "Year of Islamic Solidarity".

Participants of the conference first visited the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers at the Heydar Aliyev Museum and got acquainted with the exhibits reflecting the life of the great personality .

The conference started with the reading of ayes of “The Quran”.

Opening the event, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov said that religious tolerance and solidarity are the main criteria for the national and spiritual values. He noted that without restoring moral values, religious solidarity can not achieve stability. If moral values ​​unite people, religious values ​​unite nations and peoples.

It was noted that “Quran” has been published in the Azerbaijani language with the efforts of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, by the Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade and the outstanding theologian scientist Vasim Mammadaliyev.

Today, Muslims, Christians and Jews in our country freely worship mosques, churches and synagogues, and religious or sectarian discrimination, is a historic mission of national leader Heydar Aliyev to our people, said the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly expressed confidence that the event titled "National Leader Heydar Aliyev is the founder of religious solidarity" in the "Islamic Solidarity Year" declared by President Ilham Aliyev will contribute to religious solidarity in our country and wished success to the conference.

Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, said that the national leader Heydar Aliyev carried out consistent measures to preserve religious values ​​in our country. He noted that achievements in Azerbaijan in the field of multiculturalism, tolerance and religious solidarity are the fruit of the ideas of the great leader.

Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office emphasized that holding of the conference on "National Leader Heydar Aliyev is the creator of religious solidarity" in Nakhchivan is a continuation of measures to strengthen religious solidarity.

Speaking at the conference, president of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh said that the way of independent state building established by national leader Heydar Aliyev has laid the foundation for a new stage in the development of religious and moral values ​​in our country. Mutual trust between religions has been restored, mosques have been built and all conditions for believers have been created during the rule of the great personality.

The activities carried out by President Ilham Aliyev in this field and the work being done to regulate the state-religion relations are examples of religious tolerance and solidarity, the head of ANAS underlined.

Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan Mubariz Gurbanli said that the founder of independent Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev created a healthy ideology in this area by laying the foundations of state-religion relations in the country. Today, Azerbaijan is contributing to multiculturalism, interfaith dialogue and solidarity in the international arena.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli, vice-president of ANAS, spoke about national leader Heydar Aliyev’s great role in solidarity of Azerbaijanis, which is an expression of unity of all peoples living in our country during the years of independence. At the same time, the work carried out in the field of strengthening multiculturalism, tolerance and religious solidarity under the leadership of the head of state clearly affirms Azerbaijan's contribution to human solidarity as well as ensuring internal stability in our country, scientist lined out.
