Chief department of History of geological-geophysical sciences of the Institute of Geology, Dr geology-mineralogy prof. Hikmat Mahmudov was awarded with golden medal by “European Publication House” for his customs in young staff training and scientific achievements.   

Studying geochemistry of pearlites,  H. Mahmudov determined physical-chemical features of rhyolite magma, taking water and gases of volcanic glass for the first time in the history of world science.
