Corresponding member of ANAS Kamran Aliyev is 65

On March 5, Kamran Aliyev, the Azerbaijani folklore-scholar, department chief of the Folklore Institute, correspondent member of ANAS is 65 years.

Aliyev Kamran Imran oglu was born on March 5, 1953 in Diyadin village of Sharur region of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

In 1969 he graduated from Tumasli village secondary school of Sharur region and entered the Philology faculty of the Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University). In 1974 he graduated with honors from the University and in 1974-1976 he worked as a teacher of Azerbaijani language and literature at Khanlartys village secondary school of Sharur region.

K. Aliyev continued his education at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami of the Azerbaijan SSR Academy of Sciences in 1976-1979. Scientist has been a leading researcher at the Institute of Folklore of ANAS since 2002, and since 2012 he has been working as the Head of Folklore and Writing Literature Department.

K. Aliyev received a PhD in Philology in 1980 and a Doctor of Philology in 1990. In 2017 he was elected as a corresponding member of ANAS.

He is an author of 20 books, including 10 monographs, up to 250 articles.

In 2015 he deserved “Honored Scientist” by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
