Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The scientific conference "Heydar Huseynov and Azerbaijan's national philosophy" dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the academician Heydar Huseynov was held today at the Institute of Philosophy of ANAS.

Director of the Institute, Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh opened the event and spoke about the exceptional role of Heydar Huseynov, one of the first academicians of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, in the development of social and humanitarian sciences, especially in the field of philosophy. He noted that the scientist who systematically examined the philosophical heritage of the great representatives of our national culture has identified the main evolutionary phases of our people's philosophical ideas. He laid the foundation for studying the problems of national enlightenment in the class of thinkers such as Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov, Mirza Kazim Bey, Mirza Shafi Vazeh, Mirza Fatali Akhundov, Hasan bay Zardabi.

Academician-Secretary of the Department of Social Sciences of ANAS, academician Nargiz Akhundova spoke about the great contribution of prominent scientist to development of history and philosophy

Recalling the 100th anniversary of academician H.Huseynov at the state level, the scientist mentioned the importance of his works.

The cultural advisor of the French embassy in our country, Johan Schitterer, spoke about the development of philosophy in Azerbaijan, the value given to this science and said that Azerbaijani philosophers are widely known and used today.
