House-Museum of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeir Hajibeyli held an event dedicated to the Day of National Music.

Director of the House-Museum, Honored Art Worker Sardar Farajehev greeted the participants, told about the Uzeir Hajibeyli’s contribution to the treasury of Azerbaijani music and also noted that, the great composer is one of the outstanding representatives of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, whose 100th anniversary was celebrated this year in the country.

Deputy Minister of Culture Sevda Mammadaliyeva reminded that, the order of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who always paid great attention to the development of national culture, since 1995 the birthday of the founder of professional Azerbaijani music Uzeyir Hajibeyli - was celebrated on September 18 as National Music Day.

It was emphasized that, the Uzeyir Hajibayli’s anniversary and other Azerbaijani composers are celebrated at the state level. Today the music of the great Uzeir Hajibeyli sounds from China to America. Every Azerbaijani dreams that this music sounded in the liberated Karabakh.

Chairman of the Composers' Union, Professor Firangiz Alizadeh noted that Uzeyir Hajibeyli's work was not limited to music, he was a great educator, teacher and publicist. He can rightly be called a "great Azeri". The Union of Composers promotes its creativity in every possible way, holds conferences, concerts, events. The Union of Composers established the medal "Uzeir Hajibeyli", which was first presented at the Sheki Music Festival.

Then, director of the House-Museum of Uz.Hajibeyli, national artist, the author of many books and articles on Uz.Hajibeyli’s works - Sardar Faradzhev and Professor Telman Agdam was awarded "Uzeyir Hajibeyli" medal by F.Alizadeh.

Director Aflatun Neimanzadeh, who has been working in Turkey in recent years, spoke about international projects to popularize the work of our outstanding compatriot abroad.

In conclusion, a concert was held at the music school after K.Karayev, who performed excerpts from the works of Uzeir Hajibeyli.
