Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Director of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS, PhD in Physics, Associate Professor Elman Yusifov has been in scientific work in Orenburg, Russia.

During the visit, the scientist met with the Orenburg State University, the Institute of Desert Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Geography and the Institute of Animals and Plant Ecology, discussed joint projects, and identified future cooperation areas.

E.Yusifov also participated in the VIII International Forum of Great Eurasian Deserts and delivered a report at the plenary session.

At the invitation of academician V.Chibilov, Director of the Desert Institute visited the Orenburg Tarpaniyah where the Prjeval horses were reintroduced in the Orenburg State Nature Reserve. The prospects and the theoretical basis of the reintroduction of zubr and saigas in favorable areas of Azerbaijan were discussed here.

E.Yusifov was selected as a member of the Editorial Board of the "Environmental Monitoring and Biodiversity" magazine published in the Russian Federation. This, in its turn, will enable the scientific results of scientists working on biodiversity to integrate into the world science through the magazine.
