Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held opening ceremony of the Auditorium after an outstanding chemist, Honored Worker of Science, Hero of Socialist Labor, academician Murtuza Naghiyev on October 23.

The event was held in the framework of the Order of President Ilham Aliyev "On the 110th anniversary of academician Murtuza Naghiyev" dated November 2, 2017.

Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli noted that, Murtuza Nagiyev made a valuable contribution to the Azerbaijan science. He developed the principles of the theory based on mathematical modeling of chemical complexes and founded a new approach to the differentiation of chemical processes.

 In 1932-35 along with studying at the university, in 1940s academician worked as an assistant professor at the same university.

Speaking about a new Auditorium M.Babanli noted that, all the presented photos were taken from the archives, including the scientist’s family archive.

Director of ANAS Institute of Chemistry of Additives, academician Vagif Farzaliyev said that, Azerbaijan is an oil country and as a result, chemistry in the country has developed at a high level. He recalled that, Murtuza Naghiyev has an exceptional role in this.

In conclusion, ANAS Vice-President, Director of the Research Center of “Azerbaijan National Encyclopaedia”, son of the scientist, academician Naghiyev Tofig thanked the participants and organizers of the event.
