Senior physicist, educator, director of Sheki Regional Science Center of ANAS, PhDin physics-mathematics, associate professor Yusif Shukurlu is 70 on October 27.

Yusuf Hajibala oglu Shukurlu, was born on October 27, 1948 in the village of Bash-Shabalid, Sheaki. In 1965 he graduated from secondary school # 1 in Goynuk village of Sheki region and in 1966 entered the Physics faculty of the Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University).

After graduating from high school in 1971, he taught physics, mathematics and chemistry at the Tola village school of Gabala region and secondary school in Gabala. From 1973 to 1974, he worked as a deputy director at Tola village school.

From August 1974, she worked as a physicist at Sheki City Vocational School, and studied postgraduate study at the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences in 1975. In November 1975, he was appointed as a laboratory assistant at Sheki Regional Science Center. He was transferred to the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences in September 1977 by the Decree of the Presidium. Until 1987 he worked there as a junior scientific researcher and senior scientific researcher in 1987-1990.

In 1990-2008 he was the head of Biophysics Lab at the Sheki Regional Science Center of ANAS, and from November 26, 2002 became a docent, head of the chair of natural sciences and teaching methodology of Sheki branch of Azerbaijan Teachers Institute. Yusuf Shukurlu has been appointed Director of Sheki Regional Scientific Center by the decision of the Presidium of ANAS on October 15, 2014.

Yusuf Şükürlü defended his PhD in Physics and Mathematics in 1984.

The scientist is the author of nearly 70 scientific works, including 5 copyright certificates, 3 USSR patents. In 2006, the "Monochrome Proteins" monograph, 2008 "Light Dispersion" and "Physics course" in 2017 were published.

He is a coordinator for The Black, Caspian Seas and Central Asia Silk Association (BACSA).
