Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Eminent scientist, Director of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after N. Tusi, corresponding member of ANAS , Doctor of Physics and mathematics , Professor Ayyub Guliyev is 60.

Ayyub Guliyev was born in 1954 in the district of Nakhichevan . In 1975 he graduated from Applied Mathematics faculty of Azerbaijan State University, in 1980 finished postgraduate course of Kiev State University. In 1982 and 1993 he defended Phd and doctoral dissertations at Main Astrophisical Observatory of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences .

Considering his activity of astronomy in 2007, the International Astronomical Union, Harvard Observatory gave the name of the scientist to discovered small planet (No. 18749 , ayyubguliev ).

A.Guliev is a member of editorial board of several international scientific journals. He is chief editor of Azerbaijan Astronomy magazine. He deserved International Socrates Award in 2011.

We congratulate well-known scientist the occasion of 60th anniversary and wish him long life, good health , successes in the development of the science .
