Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On July 22-28, 2014 the staff of ANAS Institute of Dendrology organized expedition to Shemakhi and Ismayilli areas for the purpose of preparation of the III-IV volumes of the book “Dendroflora of Azerbaijan”. Monitoring of natural and cultural dendroflor were carried out in these territories as well as the comparative analysis of changes in a dendroflor which happened from 1960 to 2014 was held. areas of distribution of a willow, a guelder-rose, raspberry, a hawthorn, a birch of this territory were analysed, and also gerbarny samples and ripe seeds of some types were collected. The materials collected during expedition were included into the fund laboratory “Herbarium and seed farming”.

Note that the staff of institute got acquainted with the research work conducted in Shamakha Observatory named after N.Tusi.
