ANAS Nakhchivan Division held event in the framework of the “Science Week” dedicated to the activities of the Batabat Astrophysical Observatory.

Director of the observatory, Ph.D. in Physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor Gulu Gaziev informed on the structure of the observatory created in accordance with the Order of the national leader Heydar Aliyev dated August 7, 2002, includes the administrative building in Nakhchivan, Batabat station in Shahbuz region and station Agdere in Ordubad district. Having informed about the general activity of a scientific institution, Director noted that, more than 300 works of scientists at the observatory were published in the republic, as well as abroad.

Further, was organized an excursion for the participants. The participants of the excursion familiarized with the administrative building of the Batabat station, the working conditions and the Seyss-600 telescope at the station. The Seyss-600 telescope was modernized to meet modern requirements, and the observatory is equipped with modern equipment and instruments for astronomical observations.
