Academician Isa Habibbayli, Vice-President of ANAS, Director of Literature Institute named after Nizami Ganjavi, visited the country at the invitation of Jawaharlal Nehru University in India.
The topical issues of Azerbaijani-Indian relations were discussed at the meetings with Ashraf Shikhaliyev, ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in India.
During the meeting with vice-chancellor of the University of Jawaharlal Nehru, Professor M.Cagadesh, a collaboration agreement was signed between the research and higher education institution and the Literature Institute named after Nizami Ganjavi. The agreement envisages the establishment of Indian Studies Centers at the University of Jawaharlal Nehru, the establishment of Indian Studies Centers at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, the introduction and teaching of the "Azerbaijani Language and Literature" subject in the newly opened "Turkic Language and Literature" program at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Discussions were held on the implementation of bilateral scientific cooperation at the meetings with Rector of Nehru University, Professor Chintamani Mahapatra and Director General of the International Relations Institute, Professor Chita Bamezai.
Academician I.Habibbeyli's lecture on "Azerbaijan-Indian literary-cultural relations" at the Institute of International Relations of Jawaharlal Nehru University. He also lectured on the topic of "The Stages of Development of Azerbaijani Literature and its Main Creators" in front of the teaching staff and student collective of the "Turkish Language and Literature" specialty. Academician Isa Habibbeyli's speech was welcomed at the Novruz conference organized at the University of Nehru in Cevahiral.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli also visited the grave of prominent, Amir Khosrow Dehlavi the great follower of Nizami Ganjavi.
