Prof. Garib Murshudov has become a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization

Head of Computational Crystallography Group of the Institute of Molecular Biology, Cambridge University, Cambridge University Professor, Head of Computational Structure Biology Laboratory of ANAS Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, Garib Murshudov and Cambridge University Group Leader Lalita Ramakrishna were elected to the European Molecular Biology Organization, which unites 1800 scientists worldwide. 

Established in 1964, the European Molecular Biology Organization selects new members among scientists who make significant contributions to the development of science every year, and this membership continues for a lifetime.

The main goal of the organization is to support talented researchers at all stages of their activities, to create an environment that promotes them, and to stimulate scientific exchange of information.

Note that Professor Garib Murshudov's research is based on the creation of effective mathematical, statistical and computational algorithms for macromolecular crystallography.

Professor Lalita Ramakrishna's research is aimed at studying the pathogenesis of tuberculosis and the basics of different sensitivity to the disease.

New members will be officially presented at the annual meeting of the European Molecular Biology Organization held in Heidelberg, Germany on 29-31 October.
